Shiitake is perhaps the most well -known specialist mushroom. Known as “Dongu” in China, they are native to East Asia, and grow wild in woodland. They are rich in B vitamins, and amino acids which gives them their meaty, earthy flavour. Our extract provides all the wonder of shiitake in concentrated form.

Our concentrated, hot water extracted Shiitake powder is certified organic, with no added fillers or other ingredients. Most importantly, the potency of a mushroom extract is measurable by the level of active compounds it contains, and ours are independently tested to guarantee minimum levels of Polysaccharides and Beta glucans.

*The main bio actives in medicinal mushrooms are water soluble, not alcohol soluble. Immune modulation is a core property of hot water extracted mushrooms, and not so much of alcohol-extracts. A hot water extraction process is all that's needed to give us the required high levels of beneficial properties. Alcohol or dual extraction is only useful to get higher triterpene content, specifically in Reishi & Chaga.
