The size of a pea, the pineal gland sits right in the centre of the brain, behind the pituitary. It is a pine cone shaped endocrine gland, responsible for melatonin production in the body, which you probably know regulates the sleep-wake cycle, as well as some serotonin production. But more than that, it is known as the inner eye or the third eye. It's our inner vision, our own unique perspective on the world.
