Kelp is a brown sea vegetable which grows in shallow waters, and is best known for its high iodine content. Our organic Kelp is harvested by hand in its natural environment on the coast of Galicia (Bay of Biscay and Portuguese Waters), and then dried and turned into powder. It has an intense umami flavour, and makes an excellent alternative to salt, while being low in sodium. It’s slightly fishy flavour also makes it great as a vegan substitute in Asian dishes where fish sauce is called for. Please note, as this kelp is wild, it may contain contain small natural materials of marine origin.
1/2 teaspoon a day is a good daily dose. Add to salad dressings, soups, broths, or anything where you want to add a fishy flavour.
