"I use this in so many recipes that I buy the large bottle & it keeps well. It has a lovely rich deep flavour."
Our award winning Double-Strength Tamari Soya Sauce is now called Organic Japanese Yaemon Tamari Soya Sauce. We have updated the name to celebrate the very unique history and craftsmanship of the Yaemon family producer, who has been making this exceptional Soya Sauce since 1871.
Clearspring Organic Tamari is a double-strength, gluten free soya sauce made using organic whole soya beans and uses twice as many beans for each bottle as ordinary soya sauces. This high proportion of soya beans results in a smoother and more balanced flavour. Made to a 500 year old recipe using traditional processes and equipment handed down from generation to generation and naturally fermented and aged in cedarwood kegs over two summers. Clearspring Organic Japanese Tamari Soya Sauce has an award-winning flavour that’s rich, full bodied, complex and concentrated – but never overpowering. It’s perfect as a dipping sauce, as a traditional accompaniment to sushi and sashimi, and can be used as a condiment to give depth of savoury flavour to salad dressings, marinades, sauces, stir fries and cooked vegetable dishes.
Soya sauce is a store cupboard essential and is used as an ingredient in a variety of dishes, but just how important is the quality of soya sauce you use? Can a cheap alternative be just as good? The short answer is no. For an authentic Japanese taste with maximum flavour, it’s worth investing in a high quality soya sauce such as our Clearspring Organic Tamari– a little will go a long way.
Clearspring Organic Japanese Tamari Soya Sauce is dairy free, egg free, lactose free, gluten free, organic and vegan.
A tiny portion of roasted barley flour is used in the process of making Clearspring Orgnic Tamari Soya Sauce. Yet, in the light of gluten testing carried out, we are able to confirm that the long fermentation and ageing processes that our Organic Tamari Soya Sauce undergoes, eliminates the gluten proteins present in the barley. Following these result, the Coeliac Society has decided to include Clearspring Organic Tamari Soya Sauce in their gluten free directory.

"I bought this Soy sauce recently. It's really lovely, great tasting, and full of flavour. We use it everyday in so many different raw vegan recipes."
"The best strong soy sauce"
"Smooth, deep flavour and substantial texture without being thick. Really good. Clearspring is incredibly reliable for top quality and freshness."
"My favourite condiment"
"Beautifully packaged and promptly delivered, many thanks"
"This has been staple in our house for a long time. We use it in soups, stir fry"
"When my mother and I first used a high raw diet (back in 2006), San J Reduced Sodium Tamari was all the rage. This is a great product, but very hard to source (especially if you refuse to use the Amazon option), and the US shipping fees can be ridiculous. It took us the best part of 15 years, but we feel Clearspring’s Yaemon Double Strength Tamari is the like for like replacement (not considering the salt content). Thank you Kate for stocking it in the big bottle!"
"I bought this to make sublime sushi for a friend's birthday. He's a big meat and fish eater but the quality of all the ingredients meant that he was surprised how good it tasted!"
