As kids we loved junk food candy!! Though as we got older we discovered that our favorite candies were packed with corn syrup, GMO’s, refined sugar, preservatives and lots of other ingredients we couldn’t pronounce.

As we learned more about nutrition we started eating more organic, raw & unprocessed foods. The benefits were remarkable (although under EU law we are not allowed to mention them).

That’s when we discovered raw chocolate (unroasted) and that it's one of the healthiest foods on the planet! Raw cacao is one of the highest antioxidant foods ever tested, has tons of Iron and is high in Magnesium & Zinc.

We were overjoyed to be able to eat our favorite childhood food again, guilt-free!

Though the celebration didn’t last long, we couldn’t find any raw chocolates on the market that gave us that delicious, nostalgic satisfaction that we got from eating our favorite junk food chocolate as kids.

We both had worked with food for most of our lives and decided to create it ourselves and offer healthy & delicious chocolate candy to the world! In 2008 we started Coracao Confections (pronounced: cor-uh-cow).
