Saltverk Licorice Sea Salt

"I thought I’d try this as recommended in the shortbread recipe in The Magic Kitchen, & it’s a delicious addition. The bowl was spotless. I love Saltverk salts."

Bought this for my Mum.

"Bought this for my Mum. She and my Brother tried some on ice cream and they loved it. It has many uses in cooking and the jar should last a while. I will be buying more when it runs out."

Brilliant and bold taste explosion!

"This salt has amazing taste and intensity, it works wonders on white fish or fresh mango (just a few flakes really bring out the sweetness and zest of the mango!), or anything with lime in it. Or better yet: white fish with mango and lime! :) However, a word of warning: this mixture contains a royal amount of liquorice and should therefore be used sparingly and intermittently as the active component Glycyrrhizin is known to affect the hormonal system, leading to raised blood pressure, water retention and kidney issues if used too liberally or frequently. Glycyrrhizin also acts both as a stabilizer and labilizer of liver enzyme release, depending on the amount of intake. Hence, not a suitable replacement of your everyday salt, even though taste-wise one might certainly be tempted to do so."
