Chaga mushrooms have been used for centuries as part of traditional medicine practices, most often to boost immunity and overall health. Due to its bitter taste, it is typically consumed as a tea or in coffee. It was, in fact, used as a coffee substitute during the World War II. Mixing it with hot water (or alcohol) releases its medicinal properties, though some prefer to drink it cold.
