He has been working with Chinese herbs for over ten years, and trained with Ron Teeguarden of Dragon Herbs. His story is absolutely fascinating: he talks in-depth about how he was drawn to Chinese herbalism, and how he came to get into juicing and raw foods. Then we discuss some of his formulations and the incredible ingredients he uses, such as reishi, shilajit, ormus, black bean, and rehmannia. He also talks about his book, Raw Chi, and combining raw foods with Chinese herbs for maximum benefit.

After thousands of years of empirical evidence and 60 years of modern scientific research, the Chinese medical authorities determined hot water decoctions from whole herb formulas to be the best. We are presenting to you broad-based whole herbal formulas as Shamans used them for thousands of years. As you will see, it's a little more work to cook your own herbal tea, but the benefits clearly exceed the inconvenience. The benefits of preparing and drinking tea of Shaman Shack formulas include seeing, feeling and tasting the whole herbs. You can see the high quality of our herbs for yourself .

No low grade herbs, no fillers or hidden additives. Our herbs are fresh.

Cooking the herbs allows you to 'invest energy' into the tea. When nurturing the tea as it cooks, you get that positive energy imprint back when drinking. This is not as effective when popping herb capsules.

There is no better way to get your herbal tea than to cook and drink the herbal tea fresh. And we make them taste great!
Each package of our herbs is designed to produce up to 3 gallons of tea, and drinking 2-3 cups per day, can last up to two weeks. In that time, near-miraculous benefits can be seen.

Enjoy!

This is Shaman Shack's signature formula. The herbs in Spirit Potion have been used by China's elite for thousands of years and are attributed to enhancing the spiritual orientation of China's leaders during the Golden Era of technological and cultural advancement (Tang and Han Dynasties, approx.1000 B.C.-1000 A.D.) Reishi Mushroom, Shaman Shack's "Emperor herb" is called "the herb of spiritual immortality" and is often depicted in ancient scroll paintings as a bridge between Earth and Heaven. Reishi appears to activate a person's spiritual orientation and open the Crown Chakra. It is said to aid one in clearing old karmic obstacles and "psychic baggage". Spirit Poria is said to uplift yet ground the spirit. Longan calms the heart. Albizzia flower is said to help one overcome heartbreak and anxiety. Asparagus root is said to enable spiritual adepts and hermits in the mountains of China to fly. One does begin to have dreams of flying after regular consumption of Asparagus root. This is the formula for anyone who wishes to ascend spiritually in this life.

Shaman Shack Herbs offers “Tonic” herbs that have been used safely and effectively for centuries by ancient seers, shamans, and Taoist masters. These herbs are thought to have been used in the famous “Elixirs of Immortality” of ancient Chinese folklore. They specialize in whole herb formulas for true herb connoisseurs; a little extra work cooking tea is well worth the effort and also, you get to touch, taste and connect with the real herbs as you prepare the tea. They source the highest quality herbs for their products; herbs grown by old-school farmers of many generations, in wild lands of Northern Manchuria and other regions in China and Korea that have been kept safe from pollutants. A trip to these areas is like going back centuries into a simple past, where the herbs are collected from the wild and farmed by people who do things according to ensconced traditions. We hope that you can feel the difference.

How To Use

Preparation

Shaman Shack's Chinese herbal tea formulas follows classic hot water decoction proceedures. It is quite simple to prepare the tea formulas, and the process of cooking can be an empowering and rewarding experience. Thie process lets you get in touch with the herbs, their spirit and intelligence. By nurturing the teas as you cook them, you become your own alchemist! Popping capsules just isnt as fun.

  • Begin by pouring all contents of the pack into a stainless steel, clay or glass pot and add one gallon water.
  • Let the herbs soak in the water for 20 minutes before beginning cooking.
  • Now turn stove on high heat and bring to boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce heat to lowest simmer, cover pot and cook one hour. Check periodically to re-adjust to lowest simmer.
  • Turn off heat and allow pot to cool. I like covering the pot with a towel and allowing to slowly cool over night. In the morning the tea is beautifully decocted and robust!

You may strain tea out of herbs into pitcher, drink a cup and keep in fridge. Also, keep herbs in fridge in separate container (Jar, Ziplock Bag). But I just leave the herbs soaking in the pot of tea and put the whole thing in the fridge.

Drink warm tea 2-3 times daily. Cold tea is excellent in summer.

Add sweetener if you like, or even a little nut milk. I like to stress this; Make it taste good for yourself. Dilute if necessary, but make drinking the tea a pleasant experience!

Once you have drunk all the tea, you may take herbs from the fridge, place in pot again with one gallon water and cook same as before.

You may re-cook herbs 2-3 times, totalling up to three gallons.
