Join Kate and a circle of like-minded individuals for a morning of upliftment and inspiration. The ceremony will be held over Zoom and we will send you full details of how to prepare when you book.
This Cacao Ceremony aligns with Samhain, the midpoint between Autumn Equinox and Winter Solstice. It is said to be a time when the veils between the worlds are thin, and an auspicious time to communicate with your guides and your ancestors. To reflect on the lessons of the year, and how we most effectively anchor in that fresh knowledge and awareness as we move towards the deep yin of midwinter.
Kate has been working with cacao since 2004, when raw cacao beans first became available in the UK. She has held hundreds of classes and workshops around the world in her work as a raw food educator, and loves to bring people together in a safe and nurturing environment, to gently hold space for them to step into their magic. She recently visited the cacao farms in the Peruvian jungle where we source our cacao from, which has strengthened and deepened her relationship with this sacred plant.
The session will include a pdf with instructions to make your own cacao drink, a gratitude ceremony, and intention setting. We will also do some gentle yoga, with a long savasana and meditation. You can make your drink yourself with your own ceremonial cacao, or you can choose the option of ordering our new Ceremonial Bar to be sent to you.
The ceremony will be audio-recorded and sent to you, if you can't join live. The recording is not downloadable, and available to listen to for 28 days. The ceremony only is recorded, not the sharing circle at the end, so the recording will be around 90 mins.
If you order the bar and want it to arrive in time for the ceremony, please place your order before midday Thurs 31st Oct. We cannot guarantee it will get there if you leave it to the last minute!
"Awesome full on day yesterday with a beautiful bunch of amazing women. I love hanging out with women, sharing our inner thoughts and supporting eachother. Thank you Kate." Asa Simonsson

Cacao ceremonies are a gently shamanic way of entering into our heartspace and creating a shift in our energy. As humans, we need ritual to mark the passage of time, and as we grow in our personal journeys, we find the rituals that we grew up with (like the pub on a Friday night, the club on a Saturday night, and a Sunday roast), no longer serve us. The rising interest in activities such as cacao ceremonies and gong baths illustrates how we are looking for new ways of socialising, and structured group activities which provide an opportunity to relax, reset, and unwind in a more holistic way.
There are many different ways to do cacao ceremonies, but all involve creating a meditative atmosphere, and working with the powerful energies of the cacao plant to facilitate an inward journey of reflection, that leaves you feeling freer and lighter within yourself.
Cacao ceremonies do not have any negative side-effects. They are suitable for everyone. Some people feel very relaxed and blissed out afterwards, others are energised and creatively inspired. If you are sensitive to cacao, you do not need to drink the full cup to get the benefits of the ritual. It helps to eat lightly before the ceremony, to avoid feeling nauseous. Drink lots of water afterwards, and if you’re going to eat, make it a large green alkalising salad.

Raw Living was founded in Sep 2002. As a celebration of 20 years in business, we talked to some of our oldest and best customers about why they love Raw Living: the products, the service, and the ethos. Click here to play the episode.
You will receive a helpful PDF with all the info you need to prepare for the ceremony. When you book, you also have the option to add a ceremonial bar at a discounted price (£2.88). You can just use half the bar - 2-3 chunks. Add to a pan with 1 cup spring water, and simmer gently until all the cacao is melted (don’t bring to the boil). If you’re in a hurry, you can simply add the cacao chunks to a blender and blend with hot water. Don’t add sweetener or milk as this lessens the potency of the cacao.
Please note as the ceremony is recorded there are no refunds or cancellations.
